It was one of the proudest days of Bryony Smith's sporting life when she led Surrey Women to T20 glory last year.
And Smith's hopes of being able to lift the Women's Vitality Blast trophy for a second time were boosted when she hit 10 fours in a 51-ball 63 to inspire her team to victory against Somerset Women at Taunton.
Laura Harris's quickfire 26 from only 12 balls helped Smith to give the chase early impetus and then, when Smith fell in the 17th over, it was Phoebe Franklin's nerveless 19 not out from nine balls - including three fours - that closed out the game.
