Timing is everything, according to Reece Topley, as Surrey target a place in the Vitality Blast quarter-finals.
Wins over Sussex at Hove, on Friday, and Essex at Chelmsford on Wednesday evening, have pushed Surrey into undisputed second place in the South Group, four points behind leaders Hampshire.
But they still have plenty of work to do to cement a place in the last eight when they play the four remaining group matches, not least with a tricky trip to Gloucestershire – second in Central & West Group – on Saturday at Bristol, their second cross-group match in the new format.
