Surrey will not have Indian leg spinner Rahul Chahar for their Rothesay County Championship match against Hampshire at the Kia Oval.

The game was due to be the first of eight Championship appearances for Chahar this summer but a delay in his visa clearance has meant the 26-year old not being able to enter the UK in time.

It is a blow to Surrey ahead of a fixture which has taken on added importance after a difficult start to the Championship campaign, with an innings defeat against Yorkshire at Headingley in their previous match and only one victory - at home to Sussex - from their first six games.
