In normal circumstances, scoring 158 runs for victory on a third day Kia Oval pitch with all ten second innings wickets in hand would not fill Surrey with trepidation.
But these are not normal circumstances, following a second day's play against Yorkshire that might be remembered in years to come as 'Tumultuous Thursday'.
Yorkshire began it on 133 for seven in their first innings, after an opening day shortened by 36.1 overs due to rain and bad light.
Initially reaching 185 all out, with Dom Bess batting calmly and securely for his unbeaten 44, Yorkshire then bowled out Surrey for 83 with their four medium-paced seamers slicing through the home batting with a highly-disciplined performance.
