Rahul Chahar believes he can spin Surrey to victory against Essex at Chelmsford - if he has enough runs to play with in the fourth innings of the match.

The Indian leg spinner took 6 for 80 in his first County Championship outing since recovering from a neck injury, with Essex dismissed for 279 in reply to Surrey's first innings 183.

Chahar's haul led a Surrey fightback in a fixture that is an important one for both sides as the red-ball season approaches its final month.

And after day two was over, Rahul Chahar spoke to The Rey's Mark Church about the state of the game with Surrey just 45 runs behind at 51 for four in their second innings.
