Henry Crocombe has turned down "a very good offer" from Sussex to sign for Surrey.

The 24-year-old fast bowler, who was developed in Sussex's academy, will remain at Hove until the end of the season before heading to the Kia Oval.

It is a bitter blow for Sussex and their supporters, although it won't come as a huge shock. For Surrey, it is undeniably an exciting signing.

Crocombe has emerged in the last 12 months as one of the best fast-bowling talents in the country, a fact recognised by England head coach Brendon McCullum earlier this month when he called him into the squad for the second Test against New Zealand as cover for Sussex teammate Ollie Robinson.
