Danni Wyatt-Hodge trumped Durham heroics from Hollie Armitage and Lauren Filer as Surrey Women made it three wins from three in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup at the Kia Oval.

The England international hit 96 off 83 balls, with a six and 13 fours, as the hosts won by three wickets with 80 balls to spare, a significant margin of victory despite a List A best of 5 for 59 from speedster Filer and Armitage earlier recording her sixth List A hundred in making 106 from 123 balls.

Durham posted a 50-over total of 256 for 8, which looked likely to be enough until Wyatt-Hodge’s brilliant counter-attack after Surrey had initially slid to 62 for four, albeit with fewer than eight overs gone but with Paige Scholfield, Alice Monaghan, Alice Capsey and Alice Davidson-Richards all out cheaply.
