Ben Foakes, Surrey's saviour at Chelmsford, believes the draw his unbeaten 120 secured can spur Rory Burns' side to greater things in the final month of the season.
There are still four matches to go in the Rothesay County Championship and, after a rain-hit round of five draws in Division One, there are only 43 points separating Surrey in eighth place from leaders Nottinghamshire.
With 96 points to be played for in September there is much that can still happen, and Foakes has quickly identified Indian leg spinner Rahul Chahar as a potent weapon in Surrey's armoury as they look to finish strongly.
