The beautiful setting of Sedbergh School in Cumbria was the backdrop to the latest eye-catching innings by Adam Thomas, Surrey's break-out star of this 2026 summer.
Thomas stroked an unbeaten 82 as Surrey launched their Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign with a stunning seven-wicket win against a far more experienced Lancashire side, who had earlier posted 280 for five from their 50 overs.
As this season's Hundred kicked off with MI London hosting SunRisers Leeds in a double-header at the Kia Oval, most Surrey fans' attention would have been firmly on the run chase orchestrated by young Thomas, just turned 20, amid the spectacular fells of the far North-West.
