As Surrey and Sussex prepare to do battle over this early May Bank Holiday weekend, it is time to raise a glass to the memory of two special players, Douglas Jardine and the Nawab of Pataudi.

At Winchester College on June 13 – six weeks or so after the Rothesay County Championship fixture starts on Friday at The Kia Oval – plaques will be unveiled to celebrate the lives of two of the most famous Old Wykehamists, and the close families of both alumni are expected to attend.
