Pre-season members' evening report: everyone is raring to go!

Hosting the pre-season members' dinner at the Kia Oval always makes me a little nervous, because I am standing in front of a room of people who can see me. Normally, I like hiding behind a microphone on the radio!
In fact, I felt like I was returning to school after the summer holidays, with nerves mixed with excitement because I was looking forward to seeing everyone again.
It has felt like a long winter and after a shaking of hands with all the lovely security staff at the ground (who always give you the warmest of welcomes) I made my way up to the 175 Suite to meet Jasveer Singh, Surrey’s supporter services manager, who had organised the evening.
Jasveer told me 300 members were coming to the dinner, which was a magnificent turn out and showed just how far the club has come in recent years.
