During a nineteen-year playing career at Surrey, Jade Dernbach brought new skills to bowling that we now see on a daily basis across the world of cricket.
A paceman who played 64 times for England in white-ball internationals, he was also a County Championship winner in 2018 to bow out as a player in some style.
Dernbach, 40, is now entering his fourth season as Surrey’s bowling coach and Mark Church sat down with him to discuss his philosophy to coaching, as the county's players prepare for a new season. See the link to the full interview below.
“No day is the same in coaching and there are new challenges all the time," said Dernbach. "I am there to listen because there will be days where it does not go the way a bowler wants it to go.
