Centuries on the final day from Jamie Smith and Dan Lawrence guided Surrey to a hard-fought draw against Warwickshire at Edgbaston after four days in which Rory Burns's team had for the most part been second best.

Smith and Lawrence put on 217 for the fourth wicket - a record for that wicket against Warwickshire - as Surrey, who began day four still 47 runs behind at 169 for three in their second innings, eventually batted it out to reach 447 for four.
