Matt Spriegel encouraged to see Surrey's competitiveness in One Day Cup

Matt Spriegel, Surrey's acting head coach during the Metro Bank One Day Cup, has been encouraged by his team's performances in the first half of this season's competition.
A 45-run defeat at Edgbaston, in a high-scoring affair against Warwickshire, means that Surrey have lost two as well as winning two of the four Group A games played so far.
Warwickshire totalled 341 for four from their 50 overs, with Ed Barnard hitting six sixes in a brilliant 140 off 130 balls at the top of the order, and Surrey could only reach 296 from 47 overs in reply.
Dom Sibley opened up with 74 (80 balls), Josh Blake raised hopes of a successful chase with an accomplished 57-ball 71 and Tom Lawes - released by Hundred franchise Sunrisers Leeds for the match - hit out spiritedly for 40 off 31 balls.
