Injury-depleted Surrey limp into season's last rites against Somerset at Taunton

It's only 138 miles between Birmingham and Taunton but the journey has taken Surrey almost six months to complete.
They set out on their Rothesay County Championship Division One expedition in the first week of April, drawing comfortably enough against Warwickshire, and now complete it by taking on Somerset, their mileage around the country in between having moved well into four figures.
There is no shortage of irony that Surrey, who started the season as (somewhat over-priced) 7-4 favourites to finish top, should have started against Warwickshire – who lead the table by 11 points – and finish against the side currently second, still seeking their maiden title.
