The first few weeks after the end of the season are always a busy time, reviewing and reflecting on the summer with the players and the coaching staff.

Our season ended abruptly with our disappointing performance against Hampshire in the semi-final of the Metro Bank One-day Cup.

We went into the game full of confidence after three incredible wins, including the final group game against Somerset.

But we did not play our best cricket against Hampshire and that performance did not reflect who we are and what we are capable of as a team. I would describe the season as “nearly but not quite”.
